Fabric Development
While at Chaintex, I had the opportunity to work with a variety of renowned US brands such as Jenni Kayne, Champion, Everlane, Fabletics, etc. It was truly a collaborative process to develop fabrics tailored to each brand's identity and I enjoyed working with their respective design teams. My fashion sensibility facilitated me to thoroughly understand the brand aesthetics for each of my clients to create fabrics that are consistent to their brand image, mood and tone.
For Jenni Kayne, the goal was to create a lounge wear set with a lived-in feel that's cozy from head to toe. Instead of developing an all-cotton or cotton-poly French terry, I opted to develop a cotton-viscose blend to create an ultra-soft and more breathable looser knit French terry. The sweatshirt is a best seller for the brand and the fabric became a core program for Chaintex with Jenni Kayne every season.

Everlane was another memorable project led by Chaintex's director Mr. Six Cheung. The brand has a uniform 365-day return guarantee, so durability is a priority. Working with our production team, we repeatedly tweaked the tension of the circular knitting machine to create a noticeably deluxe French terry that's soft and sturdy. And we were able to deliver a fabric for the Everlane team to design a versatile wardrobe item that's a staple in their uniform collection.
